The UK CONNEXION

Summer Events 2021

You and your single friends, WHEREVER BORN, are invited to the following events
There is a $5 levy per person per event to be paid on arrival.
YOUR GUESTS and FIRST TIMERS INCLUDED.

When reserving for these events, please give your first & last names plus home phone number in case there is a change. Your home phone number is important - even if you reserve by email. The host may need to call you about a last-minute change.

When paying the levy, do not expect hosts to provide change; we must minimize the handling of cash. If you do not have a $5 banknote, write a cheque payable to the UK CONNEXION before you arrive. You will be asked to drop payment directly into a bag or envelope from the host.

UKC outdoor events are only possible by strict compliance with COVID-19 rules. If you do not believe in the necessity of masking, sanitization, and social distancing requirements, or have any virus symptoms, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND.

WALK/TOUR OF TORONTO BOTANICAL and EDWARDS GARDENS
Join Gail as your guide for a walk and 90 min. tour through TBG/Edward Gardens located at 777 Lawrence Ave. E. (Lawrence and Leslie). There is ample parking. For TTC, exit Yonge at Eglinton station and take bus 51 or 56 east to SW corner of Lawrence and Leslie. We'll meet outside the main glass and stone building at 11:30 AM. Their website is https://torontobotanicalgarden.ca. We'll stroll through the upper themed gardens which include Piet Oudolf entry walk, Westview Terrace and the ‘Secret Garden’, learning some history and garden design before heading down the hill to Wilket Creek in the valley. Running shoes are best for comfort and traction. If it is very humid or you prefer to avoid walking up and down hill, you may relax in the courtyard. Once back up we can relax in the courtyard outside the Bloom Café which sells coffee, pastries, wraps and cold drinks. It would be lovely to meet some of the ladies from Polly's poetry group face to face, instead of ZOOM. Bring your camera or phone for photos. This event is limited to 25 socially distanced and masked members. Please have $5 cash or pre-written cheque payable to UKConnexion. Contact Gail at 416-261-0578 or gailmurray73@hotmail.com by July 17.
